Honestly we look briefly at the report cards but don't go crazy over them because they make no sense and provide little useful feedback. one of my children had even dropped a "grade" in art yet brought home the golden paintbrush award the other day! We also find the teacher comments very generic. I have always felt the teachers grade low at the beginning of the year just to show progress between marking periods. This grading system is ridiculous.

Agreed! I was told you will never see an E so why is it there?

I would love for the grading system to go back to what it was.
I agree, this is a very silly way of grading and shows the parent nothing of their child's capabilities. The marking system has become very lazy and some teachers offer no additional comments which doesn't provide any insight to the child's progress.

Since the report cards changed to the 1-3, E system, my children have no interest in receiving their report cards. In fact, neither do I, as it does not give us any useful information.

The inability to tell if your student receives a 2 is ahigh 2 or a low 2- a high 2 might be getting a 2 because it is too early in the year to receive a 3.
The current format offers no motivation for a student, frustrates the parent, and takes valuable time away from the teacher's focus.

I would love to see the grading format changed to a percentage grade or translated to an A B C D F. I can understand having an E, S, N format for Kindergarten. For the grades that have regular testing in place, percentage/letter grades would be much more measurable to parents and students.

I would like the report cards to go back to the A, B, C.... Grading format. Much easier to get an understanding of how your child is doing in school. Also, it would be nice to see something written about your child under the "teachers comments" section.

This report card has yielded negative feedback since it's inception. It is time to acknowldege its failure and move towards a report card that actually makes sense for all involved.
