Absolutely unnecessary. I've sent numerous email to the Justice department to raise the issue but guess what? No one cares about it.

My daughter is studying at UCD, she could not joine us for Christmas and also could bot plan hee travel during the break after first semester. Tracel sgould be permitted if it is with in the duration of the study permit already granted by GNIB.

It's very difficult system as the passport is not available for almost 2 months, in which time an emergency occurs at home can be traumatic.

Simply stupid. I am having hard time explaining why i cant travel for 4-5 weeks to my business associates in Netherlands.

holding one passport for 5-6 weeks is not allowing them the Freedom of movement which is a clear violation of human rights. The department of "justice and equality" should be taken to court.
