Abolish re-entry visa law in Ireland

This is unfair for all non-EU citizens. Ireland cannot do this to people.

Sir - please consider improvements in system. 4-6 week is huge time and there must be some consideration for emergency

Its waste of time there is no need for that kind of rule which is making trouble for those people who r giving big amount of money

Re-Entry visa is waste of time and money. The person who has spent 15000 euro on his masters won't waste his money by not going to university

Seeking re-entry visa by postal only will immigrants in terrible situation. Becausr several immigrants plan to go for holidays around they visa extension and they have to consider college holidays. During this time waiting for 5 to 6 six weeks for re-entry visa process is preventing them to travel in their comfort time. I think re-entey visa should be lifted permenantly.

This rule does not make sense. If someone has residence permit, this is redundant and just increase complexity and inefficiency in the system.

This draconian change will make it very difficult for immigrants to leave Ireland for emergencies, holidays, and other everyday requirements. The older system was convenient and in place for people to get an easy way out of the country in case they had to leave for critical situations back home or similar reasons. This does need reversion.

Unfair law to immigrants should be changed. What is the point of visa and re-entry visa then renew it every year and pay 400 euro every year.it seems like Irish government just want to squeeze money from immigrants. It's not fair and it's should be changed

3 weeks for GNIB + 6 weeks for Multy-entry. This means its not possible to leave the country for 2.5 months. This is insanely long time! Just revert this process.

We have a work permit and we are residents here, we don’t need a re-entry visa, it makes no sense at all! Just to point out, the visa is never rejected which is just a waste of time, effort and money! Nevertheless if they need the money, they can just add that to the GNIB and no one will object if they’re making things easier! The way i see it, they’re moving in the opposite direction when the world is moving forward with BIG steps!

I would actually vote to cancel this type of visa once and for all! This law doesn't make any sense - all IRP holder should have right to re-entry the country - this visa is always approved and can't be not approved, it's just waste of papers and time of civil servants!

Having a residency & work permit and still being required to obtain re-entry visa is ridiculous!

It is a big inconvenience to the immigrants adding on to the time we spend renewing the GNIB and work permits!

The processing time for GNIB is 3 weeks and the visa takes 6 weeks if sent by post, there’s also the minimum 3 months before GNIB expires. So in total that’s almost 5 months in which we can’t leave the country! What is wrong with the people who manage all that seriously?! What a shame!

Multiple entry should be merged to one with GNIB, can take the €100 with it.

I think it's better to demolish re-entry visas & just allow IRP holders to travel. To save gains - charge more for IRP.
