If I hold a valid IRP card than I don’t see a reason to why I need a multi entry visa so I believe multi entry visa should be abolished.

The re entry visa requirement should be abolished immediately. This is an extra cost taken from the expats and add a cause of stress. Sending a vital travelling document through post is always risky as there are chances of human error or mishandling no matter how professional the post service is.
Also the IRP means that the person is entitled to stay in the country for the valid period and it cost us 300 eur. Adding 100 eur to rentry visa seems like a way of increasing revenue and has no legal requirement. I will appreciate if this matter is considered on high priority.

It's a monetary burden to get a re-entry visa, and partly unnecessary since you've already paid for the IRP.

I support this petition. Re-entry visa concept itself is very odd. It should be abolished asap. Otherwise the difficulty of people from other countries will keep on increasing.

Im in full support for this. Applying for re-entry visas take so much unnecessary time and effort, we already pay so much of tax to stay in the country. It doesn't make sense for me to pay additional amounts when i already hold a valid resident permit which is issues by the government itself.

I am signing this petition with my full awareness and consciousness. I am quite surprised to see that I need a re-entry visa to enter Republic of Ireland who accepted me as a student, permitted me for residence, deduct taxes from my wage but not considering me as one of them. Why should I wait for another 5-8 weeks before making a decision to visit my home country? It feels like being jailed.

It triggers a lot of troubles when I plan to go out of Ireland. 3 weeks without Passport to get Reentry visa sorted is likely to bother me in case I need my passport for urgent issues.

The re-entry visa policy has caused tremendous grief for me as a student, and is one major reason why I wouldn't recommend Ireland to other students.
