My child also has a cleft lip and palate and she’s one year old I pray nobody has to go through what we do everyday is a struggle

My son was born with a unilateral cleft lip and palate. I could not imagine the hassle these parents go through to have to constantly battle with insurance companies about coverage. Us cleft parents have to go through an immense amount of physical and emotional struggles throughout our children's lives. Worrying about insurance coverage for our childs next procedure should not have to be an issue.

This should have always been covered. There is no reason why a child born with a cleft be left out on all surgeries, since their surgeries are medically necessary.

My family has good insurance and still out THOUSANDS of dollars each year because of the lack of coverage for his cleft related procedures.

I am from Texas , and I have a daughter who was born with a cleft lip and palate!!! I need to do more research on this because I had no idea about this. Thank you for sharing! And I hope I make a difference ♥️

My cleft cutie will also need braces that unfortunately I will have to cover out of pocket
