It doesn't seem right to not cover this pre-existing condition that people are born with.

My daughter is 10 mos old and was born 9 wks premature with a cleft palate and will be needing surgery around 1 yr old. I hope this law changes where insurance companies have to cover cleft lip and palate. She can't even eat solids until surgery. It's medically necessary.

Pushing for adequate coverage is extremely important. Children have to suffer enough going through their procedures - inadequate coverage shouldn’t be an added suffering.

Good for you Ella ❤️ You must take after your grandmother Jane, I lived next door to her at Tech. Blessings to you and your mission ❤️

Agree 100%! My niece was born with this as well...luckily she has my amazing sister as a mother to fight for her every step of the way to get what she needs done!

It is outrageous that insurance doesn't cover treatment for cleft palate!

Children deserve medical care - especially for those born with birth defects or devastating illnesses.

I am really sad to learn this about Texas, although not surprised. I'm so impressed by your fight, Ella.
