CHANGE SPRING BREAK DATES TO AFTER MIDTERM EXAMS
The 2024 JCU spring break has been scheduled for the last week of February yet again, meaning NO WARM WEATHER for beaches and NO RELAXING TIME because MIDTERMS BEGIN THE FOLLOWING WEEK.
In the past, Spring Break has been appropriately situated after midterm exams in mid-March to give us a proper period of rest and recuperation. Why should this have been changed?
– TAKE BACK YOUR RIGHT TO A RESTFUL, RELAXING, AND RIGHTFULLY-EARNED POST-EXAMS SPRING BREAK –
– SUPPORT CHANGING THE DATES OF SPRING BREAK TO MID-MARCH –
Why should you support the change?:
1. Pacing:
Our current spring break is situated barely a month into the semester, leaving a long period until our next short holiday in April.
2. Weather:
Late February = winter, not spring! It is far too cold during this time to escape to much-needed sunny beaches and warmer temperatures.
3. Stress:
Designating the spring break this early into the semester places it BEFORE midterm exams, which defeats the overall purpose of the break as a period of rest. Do you want to spend your vacation studying for exams?
