These sentences are not nearly enough for the thugs who attacked this man and left him so badly injured.

I think it sends the wrong message when these people intentionally harm an individual nearly to the point of murder the individual and are then given a maximum of five years.

At the time I was appalled by these sentences. Mr Dobbin and his family are serving a life sentence . Their lives and dreams are shattered. Theseowards deserve to spend many years behind bars. After all they volunteered for prison.

12 cowards protected by the farce that is the justice system in the UK. 12 cowards probably serving half their sentence in a holiday camp of a prison.

Please review these sentences to reflect the victim's life changing injuries. It could so easily have been murder. The sentences should be an effective deterrent to others.

Thugs need to be shown they can't get away with light sentences while victim has a life sentence.

I totally agree - five years is far too lenient a punishment for these mindless thugs who have ruined a whole family's lives

This man as essentially lost his life and the sentances should reflect this.

I strongly agree that the sentence should be increased to minimum 10 years. These thugs will probably be out before their sentence is finished anyway. This must be changed to attempted murder. Good luck Nicole

I would like to say as a Rushden and Diamonds fan that the sentences given out to his assailants are too low and they should have got at least twenty five years each as they have taken his life away and I wish you and the family the best for what will be a difficult future and if is anyway I can help in the future, please let me know

I.could not believe the sentences that were given as they do not reflect the harm done to Mr Dobbin + his family. I believe the sentences need to be reviewed and increased.

They should get life. They have condemned an innocent man to a vegetative state and should have "like for like". All too often minimalist jail terms allow criminals out too early, without remorse and allow them contact to the unprotected public far far far to early.
I hope that they loose the keys.
Kind regards

Agree with others posters punishment should be much longer to send out a strong message violence is not acceptable in any circumstances.
