The men who did this had basically beaten him to his death he's not the same person as it's ruined his and his families lives therefore I feel the sentences given are no where near long enough people like these criminals shouldn't be allowed into society especially considering the poor man did nothing wrong.

5 years is just not enough! 10 years minimum!

Tougher sentences must be implemented for crimes against the person. If they had robbed a bank they would have got longer.

Please put my name on this. I think a lot of our sentences need to be reviewed as they are out dated.

The sentence given was not enough for the damage they have caused the family as well as Simon himself.

Fully support this. The so called 'justice' system in this country needs to be fixed.

They ruin someone's life for what because they support a football team and don't like the other team grow up, no excuses for gang mentality and senseless violence they deserve to be life sentences for ruining another life for no reason

It's about time the law was changed to reflect the severity of the assaults inflicted on the victims & any life changing consequences they may have rather than benefitting the perpetrator via a slap on the wrist!

its disgusting how these men have been able to walk away to live their lives and poor Simon and his family are left with a constant reminder of what happened that day.

This is disgusting and in my opinion they should be tried for attempted murder and sentenced accordingly. This man has to live with the horrific consequences. They should be made aware of the damage they have done. They should know that it is not just the person they have hurt but they have caused lifelong distress to the persons family & friends.
