What these so call men done to this family is a total disgrace, they all deserve to be locked up for many years or even life because that's what this family has got a life sentence caring for someone they love.

Justice for Dobbin. No one deserves to go to a game of football and not live a full life after.

The sentences handed down to these thugs was just not long enough, they deserved life.

Sentence should reflect the severity of the injuries sustained to a victim/s during the violent disorder not just a set sentence for all. If it was one man on one man the sentence would be higher.

My heart goes out to you all. It's absolutely disgusting how little time these mindless thugs got while Simon and his family are living a nightmare for life.

How can this be justice? These men should be locked up for much longer than the sentence they have been given. The victim here is Simon and sadly his life has changed for longer than 16 months.

I took Simon through his basic training. A smashing fella, I can not believe These people are or will be free soon while this poor family will suffer for a lifetime. Disgusted with our pathetic judicial system .

Terrible. I've followed this story on my local news so so sad. Mindless violence by despicable people who were only brought to silence when confronted by the damage they had done

The family have a life sentence. It could have happened to anyone so there needs to be an effective deterrent. These punishments are inadequate.

Should be longer when it's a group of them

Surely attempted murder would be more accurate than public disorder.

5 years for basically ending someone's life and giving them life changing injuries is absolutely ridiculous. How would you feel if that happened to one of your own family??????
