The sentences given were an absolute disgrace. The government needs to look at the sentences passed down & review immediately. Ten year minimum is a must.

It's appalling that a burglar gets a longer sentence than those who nearly kill someone

I am ashamed that this incident happened in my home town of Southend on Sea and I fully support this petition for stronger minimum sentencing

The perpetrators of crimes like this should get a life sentence as the victim and his family has.

I really hope this petition makes a difference. Well done to the family of Simon Dobbin for fighting this. The group guilty of Simon's attack should have got life. They have destroyed this man's life and his families knowing exactly what they were doing. It's attempted murder.

I've just watched the interview on the news with Mrs Dobbin. This was a wicked and senseless attack. Mr Dobbin will be like this for life. The attackers will all be back living their lives in 2 years.

This should be treated as a very serious offence with sentences significantly increased

Victims of these violent people may suffer for the rest of their lives. The perpetrators may serve just a couple of years, then go free. It's completely unbalanced

All the luck in the World with your petition, the sentence should be at least 10 years for animals like them

5 years is a joke in a case like this. Well done for bringing this to our attention.
