It should be raised to at least 15 years in my eyes as it's an intent to harm someone,in this case these mindless thugs have ruined a whole families life..

This man's injuries effect him for life. His life is ruined. 5 years sentence is far too short for something like this.

The Law needs to change to a minimum of 10 years for Violent public disorder - The Dobbin Families life has been turned upside down!

A life sentence would be preferable after the devastation caused to the victim!!

The punishment should fit the crime. This is a clear case where it does not.

Something needs to change with these laws! life's have been ruined by these thugs vile acts of violence. I would suggest the sentences for the scum who inflicted these life changing injuries to this poor man are tripled.

The justice system seems to be flawed, when such a serious crime as this is not treated with a more severe sentence.

Any violence but their weekends should be taken and made to work for life instead of prison no pay 12+ shifts

Very rarely do punishments fit the crimes these days. Maybe if people knew what was coming to them, they'd think twice about doing it in the first place! These disgusting excuses for human beings may not have commited murder but its attempted murder in my view and they have taken not only Simons life but that of his wife as well as changing the lives of their families. Everyday you hear the pathetic punishments for horrific crimes committed and it's time they changed!

It definitely should be more that what it is as they destroyed a life and that person has to live with the suffering for the rest of there life not even 10years is enough for there crime

I believe that 10 years would not be sentence enough. For any human being to want to kick another into submission is beyond belief.

No place for mindless thugs in a civilised society. They must be made to see that violence will not be tolerated in any shape or form. The punishment MUST be seen to reflect the crime!

I support the petition. I believe this type of offence is fortunately rare in producing as a severe result as this but I agree they should ALL be held responsible and suffer longer potential jail terms

Sentencing in this country is a farce, the whole thing needs to be reviewed. There is no deterrent these days

Violent crime is up by 18% Prison sentences are at least half of what they should be Governments whatever party is in power should get off their backsides and do something about it !

I can't believe the short length of the sentences these men received. My thoughts are with Simon's family.
