change in park view uniform

Against the Ministry of Education guidance stipulating that uniforms should be affordable and also no consultation with the parents. The children might like it but they are not the ones paying for it. I am now wondering if the school has a vested interest in that online supplier because this all looks and sounds very underhand. Also, very angry that we should know about this towards the end of the school term when not much can be done about it apart from signing a petition. The school is acting like the government, presenting things to people when it has already been decided anyway. Undemocratic maybe and not a good example for the children taught at the school. I will not pay £15 for a pair of trousers and will not consult the school about this. I wonder if the papers would be interested in a case like this one. Should we tell them?

The one they have is fine. Parents shouldn't have to worry about forking out money for ugly, expensive uniform

More fascist upper class twits attempting to take a reasonably good school back into the past. Just like changing names ( to academy) does nothing to improve standards of behaviour or education changing the uniform will do nothing but alienate parents who should be supporting the school. When will these dinosaurs realise the days of the Grammar School are long gone.

I am disappointed that this has not been discussed with parents before a letter was received. Many parents have already bought uniform for next term. This uniform will be significantly more expensive.

A new uniform is fair enough but having badges on trousers to stop parents from buying cheaper ones from supermarkets is inexcusable and scandalous. Shame on you Park View.

I am totally gobsmacked as I have just been on to the purchasing online website to buy new uniform and the trousers and skirts and sizes only go up to a 34" waist and this is too small for my child which has caused her upset. She is a healthy weight and eats healthily and exercises. I have had to sit and explain that she is perfect as she stated I will have to lose weight! Things like this can cause eating disorders and the same thing happened last year when we were told to purchase trousers from certain retailers such as asda and Marks and Spencer and I paid a fortune and they were never worn as other people continued to wear skinny jeans and leggings. Also there is no equality when handing out "consequences" as it depends upon who you are as on uniform letter it again states no radical hair styles but there are people with different hair every week including tram lines! One rule for one and not another! I have asked for suggestions on how to get my child to school with no skirt or trousers as only blazers in right size! Nothing is ever thought out before a decision is made. Also how are some parent's going to afford the prices as even though the blazers have £5 knocked off they are still £18 each!! And what if the parents need their children to try on as only one date for pop up shop for older children. The base is in Benin in Newcastle! Not everyone drives...

This is a scandal, no consultation with parents and total disregard of government guidelines re uniform changes. If you agree please write to the headmaster expressing your concerns and register it as a complaint (see schools complaint procedure on their website). The more of us that do this the more chance of getting a meeting where we can vent our frustrations towards the school. It is supposed to help us raise moral, intelligent, caring contributors to the community, but this is also a valuable lesson for our children about the world of business, cashbacks for orders, and how the people in positions of power decide to do what they want regardless of guidelines and consequences to those below.

Who asked the parents who have children at this school if this was an acceptable change. What do you do with their old uniform and how many parents can afford this change I know my daughter can't and many more probably can't either

Parents shouldn't have to fork out more money than they already do
