Ridiculous and sexist rule

I completely agree with the fact that a shoulder shouldn't be sexualized and the dress code is extremely out dated, and needs reform.

Well seems to me it's time for change. This is the same dress code 27 years ago when I attended this school. We also had issues with being too warm in summer because we had to wear more clothing. Definitely out dated rules. Maybe some of the others should be investigated.

It's ridiculous that active wear is not allowed in gym. Also not being able to show your shoulders is ridiculous. So when they get out in the real world they will not be able to show control because it's not familiar to them. Why would we not prepare them for that. Also with the comment that others don't have to follow the rules because of their family. It's true, that's how it is and that's why there is so much trouble or conflict. I'm so and so's kid so I don't have to do this or that. It's total bs and I'm not the only one who feels this way.

If boys in school are so distracted by a young girl's shoulders, maybe we should teach them not to sexualize us!!!!

You can't mandate or control a students attention span. If bare shoulders are a distraction, then so are expensive jeans, colorful tops, certain hairstyles, trendy sneakers, etc. Are the students more attentive in the winter? The focus should be on encouraging respect, boundaries, and self control.

This needs to change!

Another side note: yoga pants are far more covering that running shorts for girls anyway. As for girls without a thigh gap, yoga pants allow for running free from chub rub.

I agree that active wear should be allowed and no sleeve shirts be allowed as long as the strap is no less than 2 inches or even 3 inches.

I completely agree that there needs to be a change. I don't agree with the cut off rule. Sorry for the confusion.

Tank tops and shorts shouldn't be a distraction! Teach boys to respect women first before shaming young girls for their bodies!

I know my senior year of high school, they started allowing people to wear tank tops, but the staps to be 3 finger widths. I don't know if they kept it last year or not. Another thing I remember is at gym time girls couldn't wear cut offs that showed any parts or a sports bra at all, or cut offs in general. I'm not for sure if it was no sports bra is allowed to be seen, or no cut offs at all, but I completely agree. It's time to start making a change.

Stop sexualizing girls. It's rare that boys get coded but girls constantly are. We are not objects, please stop encouraging objectification of these young girls!

It is time to update this archaic dress code. We are more than a distraction ✊

It should be allowed as long as it's in good taste and not torn or ragged!
