That rule is only for elementary aged students. While I totally agree that arbitrary dates for Kansas shorts weather is a ridiculous concept, it doesn't affect the schools she is campaigning for tonight.

I also think it's crazy you can't wear shorts I the winter to school. I lived in shorts and T shirts all year round, still do.

Straight forward, reasonable, rational request from a student. I see no valid reason why it should be so difficult to be able to dress for Kansas weather in Kansas.

A daughter of a school board member consistently wears shoulder baring shirts and has made the comment to my daughter directly that she's allowed because her parent is on the school board. I realize it's a she said, she said, but it's direct witness from my daughter not a secondary source so I thought it was relevant if she wanted to bring it up.

I think a rule of a certain # of fingertips width, that seams must be finished, etc is more than appropriate
