Time for change in Downtown Roseburg!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This petition is for cleaning up downtown Roseburg, Oregon. Due to the recent increase of drug use, alcohol use, an attack on a local business owner, and just the overall safety for the general public, It is time for us as a strong community to stand up and regain control of our historical downtown area. The constantly increasing drug use, transient traffic, and alcohol usage has made our downtown area unsafe at any given time. A handful of small business owners have complained and or pleaded with the Douglas county sheriff office, Roseburg P.D., and even our city hall to do some thing about this situation. The city has not found a appropriate way to handle the situation and it has finally escalated into physical violence, thefts, and in some unreported cases even much worse things such as rape, and improper disposal of needles used by drug addicts. We as a community seek a solution so that our families, business’s, children, and our personal belongings are SAFE!!!! We ask that our community come together with the help of our city representatives to come to find a direct approach on how to take care of this on going problem. The approach has been to passive, or in other words not strong enough to have a physical impact. By signing this petition, you are stating that you are aware of the on going problem and that it needs to be addressed A.S.A.P. and with a more proactive approach.
