Yoga leads students to become more aware of their own body, mind and spirit. There should be less injury and more health.

This is unequitable and needs to be fixed. Please recode yoga teachers more in line with what they do. It is not a high risk sport.

Yoga is a healing art, teaching mindfulness, breath and body awareness as well as strengthening and stretching the body. The aim is balance of mind, body and breath. Through yoga, you become more aware of your body, of how different parts are feeling and functioning, and you connect to inner stillness, a component of any yoga class. Through this increased mindfulness, you are then less likely to injure yourself in other daily activities, rendering yoga a means of injury prevention. Through yoga I have strengthened and completely healed my back after a car accident. I suffered from sciatica from sitting long hours at a desk and since teaching yoga, any pain has completely disappeared. It is paramount that this ACC levy be reassessed based on a true understanding of the nature of teaching yoga.

Please do your research and you will see that yoga is not a sport in anyway, shape or form.

I am a fully qualified yoga teacher, and I can assure that teaching yoga at a professional level is a very safe practice, and definitely does not warrant such a high-risk category.

Yoga to a certain degree is a way of life. To pigeon hole it like this a mistake. Once again it all becomes grey, especially when there is revenue to be made. All the best with your petition.

This situation shows that ACC has not objectively assessed yoga activity, and real risks inherent to this activity.

Yoga is far from being a sport. Dance & Ballet have far more vigorous & acrobatic movement than gentle yoga postures.

ACC levies should be set at a fair level - It is not a high risk activity. As trained yoga teachers we all work to help students practice in a safe and mindful way, helping them to be more healthy and aware
