s1267434. It makes logical sense to set the same amount of time to write essays for each semester. This semester, we have lost one week worth of working, but the amount of work required has not lessened proportionality, indeed the work has increased for some of us by up to 2000 words (including me). This is not just the student body raising these issues, but teaching staff, who first raised the problem with administration. If the teaching staff are of a mind that the deadlines are too constricting, what is the point of rushing them with the marking? In my view, that is putting markers in a position in which they cannot perform to the best of their abilities, to the detriment of all students. I have now spoken to four members of faculty who have substantively said what I have outlined above.
