Clubman competitors in Motorsport Ireland Stage Rallies have been deeply affected by the recent mandate requiring all motorsports participants to use a specific brand of fuel and purchased at rate that is not affordable for every competitor.. This decision has placed a significant financial burden on club-level competitors, who already operate on limited budgets compared to professional teams. Maintaining rally cars is costly enough without the added expense of adhering to this regulation.

This mandate overlooks the needs and realities of clubmen, many of whom do not run their cars on the specified fuel. Such a requirement risks making the sport less accessible and inclusive, potentially discouraging grassroots participation and budding talents from pursuing their passion for rallying.

While regulations and standards are essential for the sport, it is equally important to ensure that they are fair and considerate of all participants. The diversity and inclusivity of competitors, from professional teams to amateur clubmen, are what make rallying in Ireland thrive. Imposing such strict conditions could alter the motorsport landscape, making it harder for enthusiasts to participate.

We need your support to urge Motorsport Ireland to reconsider this mandate and work towards a more equitable solution. Your signature can make a difference in keeping the sport accessible to all motorsport enthusiasts in Ireland. Please sign the petition. As a clubman competitor from Wales i totally oppose this rule change to control fuel, This will double my fuel costs and will not compete in Ireland again under these rules, unfortunately it will be the clubs that suffer rather than the Paid personnel in charge..

Motorsport is very expensive to start with . This is pure greed and will lead to the decline in rallying . Think of the bigger picture that motorsport brings to the community with restaurants , pubs , hotels ,B & B’s being used .

If this doesn’t alter, my plans of travelling over from Wales to do a few Irish events is probably over. My cars are mapped on 99 octane, 98 is too low and I’m not paying that for a litre of 102 thank you. But, I can’t use my own fuel left in the refuel area!!? Really??

To Motorsport Ireland, I had hoped to compete on 2 events this year, the increase in fuel costs and having the engine re mapped to Panta Fuel would cost me in the region of €2000 extra above budget, please allow other fuel ie pump fuel

Just let people bring their own drums to the refuelling zone like always. Or an even simpler solution would be to make it mandatory for all service crews to have grounding straps for their fuel drums. Same as it is mandatory to have a ground sheet!

I help out with two separate clubman , this is significant cost , that seems to be forgotten about , fuel that has being bought pre season is no good now , that along with the cost of mapping cars to the new fuel , which didn't seem to be considered at all
