I went to Central. My oldest graduated and my youngest is now going to Cental. I have always been proud to mgr a Central Bear and didn't want anything different for my kids. But I must say this is very upsetting makes me hold my head down in shame. If this is what Central does then what are you teaching our kids. It's just sad!!!

I went to school with Mr. Hawes and I remember him drawing the best in question.

Please just give this man the recognition for his work. What will it hurt besides owning up to your mistake. The proof is undeniable, so letting this go on any further just makes the powers that be, at Central look stupid.

I've known Matt Hawes and followed this situation for most of a decade, and I believe it's past time to give him the credit he deserves.

In all the cities I've lived in, Evansville schools were the worst and that's saying a lot I attended high school in Indianapolis. It was if they set the students up to fail, with some of their policies. I hope they settle this and at least give him credit for his work.

if you just listen to Matts explanations, you can see it's the truth, if you view the evidence you can see it's his work, if you read his classmates & teachers comments they support his side, and if you KNOW Matt, you know he is a very honest and just a really good person who isn't asking for anything but to be credited in either the school website, a placard, some simple way to say he drew the bear that has been used for 30 years to represent the school. To say we are proud that one of our own students drew this and his name is Matt Hawes.

My uncle is an amazing artist, shame on the EVSC and Central for stealing his Bear drawing and using it without permission! Give him the credit that is deserved!
