Beginning with CCHS' earliest roots in 1852 through name changes over time, CCHS has long been an educational anchor in this great city. Its JROTC program has long held the distinction of being the oldest established JROTC program as well. JROTC develops leadership values early in life and for many becomes the stepping stone in educational and career development. We implore the faculty, executive and affiliated committees to keep this much needed program. Class of '74.

I am an Army JROTC cadet. I will always conduct myself to bring credit to my family, country, school, and the corps of cadets. I am loyal and patriotic. I am the future of the United States of America. I do not lie, cheat, or steal and will always be accountable for my actions and deeds. I will always practice good citizenship and patriotism. I will work hard to improve my mind and strengthen my body. I will seek the mantle of leadership and stand prepared to uphold the Constitution and the American way of life. May God grant me the strength to always live by this creed.

Honestly, a great program to help build responsibility, attention to detail, and respect. It's part of the history of the school, keep that alive.

I will admit that I wasn't at all excited about having to join the JROTC program upon entering Central Catholic. But I believe that it's a great program because it gave me exposure to the military system. Furthermore, it taught me time management, leadership skills, accountability, knowing how to talk to my superiors, and most importantly how to follow orders. Although we might not think that way as freshman, looking back it plays a role in our development as men of honor and integrity. I hope the mandatory two years stays in place, but if not, I hope you expand your electives to more than just P.E. Most likely students will not participate, but giving them a broader selection to choose from will help in regards to exposure to college courses.
