Very tired of all of T&ES efforts to social engineering. We need a change of personnel at top.

Leave Seminary Road with four lanes, the way the civic associations have advocated. Stop the war on cars in the City of Alexandria. Stop the road diet nonsense -- and quit going to local media promoting the minority view as safety driven. Reverse the upper King Street changes. Restore the 30 mph limit on North Quaker Street. Do not proceed with closing off the 100 and 200 blocks of King Street. Insist that developers provide more parking, not less, especially in the Old Town area with restaurants. At the end of the Metro shutdown, resume HOV 2 on Route 1 and Washington Streets; HOV 3 only made traffic worse and should not have been imposed there during the shutdown.
New need to Take Back the Streets of Alexandria. We need a city council that respects the majority. And we need new staff leadership at the Department of Transportation and Environmental Services that will be an honest broker, not catering to a minority.
Beware the silent majority, Wilson and company.

I fail to see how reducing car lanes on Seminary will improve traffic flow since I doubt most people will switch to cycling when using this route. I now avoid upper King Street since the traffic there is now worse and I almost never see cyclists using those lanes. Keep 4 lanes.

Hospital access depends on 4 lanes, the residents are opposed to lane reduction and BPAC has too much pull with City Hall.

Seminary Road is essential in transporting many Alexandria residents to and from work and school in the morning and evening. It is one of the few workhorse roads of our city. To reduce travel lanes will further congest traffic and will harm the quality of life of those Alexandria citizens living nearby who depend on the uncongested movement of Seminary Road to get to their jobs. Those jobs support Alexandria families and pay Alexandria taxes.
There have been no fatalities along the stretch of Seminary Road from Quaker Lane to Howard Street. That is a fatuous argument.

Traffic will become an even larger problem if the lanes are reduced. Isn't there a bike lane on Braddock Road? Howard Street and Quaker Lane both connect directly to Braddock. Do we really need another one just one block over?

The majority of us are not bikers And do not Want to lose our car lanes
Many people cut through our neighborhoods and it is important to get them moving and not back up traffic. I am 70 years old and I am not going to get a bicycle to get my groceries or do other errands. Cars are particularly important in good weather. Please vote to represent The majority of your constituents

The lane and speed reductions on major thoroughfares are making Alexandria less rather than more livable. Not all of us are able to walk, bicycle or scooter from one place to another. Add cross walks. Add stop signs. But please don't make our streets so inimical to resident drivers that you reduce our property values and push more people to choose Arlington over Alexandria than is already the case. We are on of the safest cities in the country. Zero deaths at the expense of quality of life for the vast majority of residents is insane.
