Keep Seminary Road four lanes. Our city leaders should be focused on solutions that improve traffic flow rather than solutions that create congestion by design in order to force people out of their cars.

Dear Mayor Wilson & Council:
I am an Alexandria resident who supports the Traffic and Parking Board's (TPB) June 2019 recommendation to maintain Seminary Road’s four-lane configuration with key pedestrian safety improvements. The majority of residents in North Central Alexandria are negatively affected by traffic congestion and want leaders to consider neighborhood cut-through traffic and other impacts from lane reductions on this major arterial roadway. Given our need to connect with INOVA Alexandria Hospital, Alexandria City Public Schools (ACPS)/St. Stephen’s & St. Agnes School, Fire Station #206 and Interstate I-395, the TPB has correctly determined that car lanes should not be reduced. I urge you to vote in favor of the TPB’s decision on September 14th. I’m #44onSeminary and an #AlexTrafficVoter!

We travel this street multiple times daily and rarely, maybe one a day, see bikers on this road.
Reducing the lanes and adding bike lanes would be a waste of our taxpayer money and cause more congestion and more frustration on the part of drivers every day.
Please say NO to Alternative 3!

Stop listening to special interest groups and please leave Seminary Road as it. Emergency vehicles need unimpeded passage. Those who belong to bicycle special interest groups should not be allowed to vote, they need to recuse themselves!
In addition, a no right on red at the corning of Seminary and Quaker will have Seminary backed up to the hospital if implemented. Please leave Seminary Road as it is.

I do not support narrowing of Seminary road. Add cross walks. Do NOT take away traffic lanes on a road which feeds into the hospital!!

This plan to diminish the roadways is nonsensical to anyone who travels on those roadways for anything more than occasional or casual use. With the needs of the vast majority that depend o those roads for regular school and work traffic, I hope the cancel preserves the 4 lanes of traffic.

We live on a cul de sac off Seminary and are very concerned about our ability to turn into and out of our street. Seminary is already backed up and this will make things much more difficult by eliminating our ability to use the curb lane.

Keep Seminary Road 4 full lanes.
