Traffic is already horrible. Eliminating lanes is a terrible idea.

It's more than past time that the City of Alexandria creates genuine and meaningful citizen participation if decisions that affect us all. Our trust in Mayor and Council has been stretched past the breaking point.

Reducing lanes makes no sense and increases risk to our community. Slowing traffic to the hospital should be a major concern.

This road leads to the hospital. Narrowing the road will increase travel time to the hospital, risking lives in Alexandria.

Maintain four lanes especially in light of closure of MacArthur school and expected increase of traffic for several years

really disappointed in our city's leadership, they are making living, working, travelling in Alexandria very unpleasant, if not impossible. I would rather they focus on real issues like homelessness, schools, etc. We also have a great opportunity with Amazon---we should focus on how to attract people to Alexandria---not 'drive' them away with impossible gridlock. Let the police enforce speed the speed limits.

Strongly oppose reducing lanes on Seminary
Road. Every change the city makes just seems to make the traffic on Janneys Lane worse. They should focus on redirecting the cut through commuter traffic to the interstate and beltway where it belongs.

Having lived in the West End since 2000 and being a regular commuter I've found the changes made to Van Dorn and other major commuting roads to be extremely ill-advised. Decreasing driving lanes in Van Dorn has increased gridlock and I rarely see bikers (or anyone) using the bike lanes. What I do see if people holding up traffic at the lights to cut over bc of backups due to the removal of driving lanes northbound. Southbound is just as bad since people turning right block traffic going toward Landmark, again causing delays.
This proposal is asinine, especially since the DoD facility brings in significant commuters to Seminary, this will create traffic delays that will back onto 395.

I oppose narrowing Seminary Road between Kenmore Ave. and Quaker Lane. There are 2 schools, a library, a Fire Department, Alexandria Hospital, a church, a synagogue and a Theological Seminary with a church on that stretch of road. That is too much activity to limit to 2 lanes. My husband and I drive this route regularly as we worship at the 2 Episcopal churches every Sunday, attend choir rehearsals and ring bells at the cathedral. We have many opportunities to observe the traffic conditions. I think it would only increase hazards to incorporate bicycles and scooters into the mix. They should be routed to less trafficked roads. Traffic lights and crosswalks at the hospital bus stop and possibly near the Synagogue and Immanuel Church-on-the-Hill would be helpful. I believe the improved crosswalk between Hammond Middle School and Burke Branch Library has increased safety at Library Lane. Thank you.

As the Executive Director of the Plaza Condominium Association, a 240 unit community on Howard Street, I am opposed to the plan to narrow Seminary Road. Many of our residents use that road to travel to and from work each day and the plan to reduce it to 3 lanes (plus the bike lanes that few -- if any -- would use) would cause major congestion and is a totally unnecessary expenditure of scarce funds. I suggest you use that funding to repair the roads that are already heavily used, which are like many in the West End (including Howard Street) that are in terrible condition.
