I am opposed to any reduction of traffic lanes on Seminary Road. I do not trust the forecast of miniscule delays resulting from your plan.
As for bicycles on Seminary, they are rare. Why not keep Seminary 4-lane and give the rare bicycle the R lane as needed. That seems to work on Braddock Road in both directions between Quaker Lane and Van Dorn. And King Street should be reverted to that model. Squishing 4 lanes down to 3 lanes will not ease traffic. Is Duke Street next?

I rely on Seminary Rd on a daily basis and while I could be made safer with improved cross walks and moving the bus stop across from the hospital so people don't always Jay walk, reducing the number of travel lanes will increase cut through traffic in to Seminary Ridge

Dropping Seminary below 4 lanes makes no sense. Left hand trners to St Stephens school will reduce it to no lanes at times.
The accidents are not on the stretch of the road you are addressing.

The best solution is to retain 4 traffic lanes, while widening sidewalks and buffers and installing visible cross-walks at key points. The widened sidewalks can accommodate bike riders as well as walkers.

Absolutely NO to reduced Seminary lanes! On what basis is this scheme based? Certainly not on ever worse traffic chaos in DC after lane-reductions for bikes. In Alexandria - what bikes? Random recreational, but no big demand to bike to DC or other jobs, so we’d lose the lanes and exacerbate rush-hour for nothing. Do not coerce the tolerant majority into schemes demanded by limited but loud lobbies for bikers or otherwise.

In addition to all the cut through traffic ACPS is adding a swing space school to the neighborhood. Please don’t trap us in our west end neighborhood with the proposed road diet because the right planning was not done with BRAC and the HOV ramp.

Please do not change Seminary Lane down to 2 lanes—it is bad enough that you have made the speed limit 25 everywhere. Please please please stop catering to the 10 people who ride bikes—while many of us like to ride bikes, we don’t expect to have bike lanes to travel everywhere.

Seriously opposed to the idea of reducing auto travel lanes on Seminary Road. Duke Street is already a parking lot most of the day, so please don't make Seminary Road another nightmare! No road diet needed; please, PLEASE, be smart, dear elected representatives, and listen to and serve the vast majority of your constituents who do not bike or walk everywhere. Public safety is at stake if you restrict access to our hospital with this ridiculous idea. DO BETTER, PLEASE!

The narrowing of the main arteries is crazy. I am an avid bike rider and support bike lanes generally but making traffic co festoon worse is ridiculous. The biker lobby to their credit has been incredibly effective for their narrow minded viewpoint but it is a disaster for the city overall.

The section of Seminary road that the city is proposing to diet is already the second safest section of road in Alexandria. the City's proposal would only increase traffic congestion as well as the likilihood of traffic accidents. Listen to the residents living in the area. WE DON'T NEED IT OR WANT IT. inaddition,

I fear the potential of having long backup of cars attempting to get through the light. In the past, even with the current configuration, I have seen folks run in left lane and then cut in front of and over cars waiting in the right lane. It would not surprise me to see the same folks attempt something similar.

Why is the City Government wasting precious time and resources in considering reductions in vehicle lanes? This is Northern Virginia! We need to increase vehicle traffic on major urban thoroughfares, not reduce it.

Terrible proposal. Would make it very difficult to get to Beth El, especially during High Holy Days. And Seminary Road is too busy a connecting road; reducing lanes would create a major bottleneck in that area year round!
