Please keep the lanes as they are. They are EXYREMELY VITAL in being able to move traffic through the city. Eliminating lanes would anger drivers more than already and cause more road rage, leading to more accidents. Restricting

Reducing lanes on Seminary will increase commute times. I oppose it.

I am against the road diets and measures that have increased traffic throughout Alexandria. Our roads and infrastructure need to be fixed and maintained - this is where the emphasis should be. The best way to increase protection for cyclists and pedestrians (as well as drivers) is to enforce cycling and pedestrian laws that are already in place.

We have to stop reducing the number of traffic lanes while increasing the number of households in the city. Traffic is also going to increase on this stretch of road over the next few years as Douglas MacArthur school is taken down and the students go to Patrick Henry.

This street already has traffic problems, and I am tired of the city council making silly changes for no reason.

Leave the street as it... add a crosswalk or two as needed. Eliminating lanes makes zereo sense.

Please enforce the existing speed limits instead of reducing lanes and installing speed bumps.

I am not in favor of a reduction of lanes on Seminary RD. I attended the meetings at Immanuel Church and St. Stephen's and St. Agnes School, and was not convinced by the City officials who made the presentations. I do support alternative transportation options, but the presentations lacked credibility relating to traffic accidents, and the benefits gained by removing one or two lanes.

Seminary already had a speed limit reduction from 35mph to 25mph along this stretch. With appropriate policing of speeders, there is absolutely no reason to decrease the amount of lanes on Seminary Road between Howard and Quaker. Doing so would result in complete bottlenecks eastbound at Quaker and westbound at Howard that would cripple the commutes and daily interactions of families living on these roads. Families that, as a family of 6, I can vouch for the current 4 lane layout being completely safe - if my 5-yr old and 3-yr old can safely ride their bikes along this stretch of Seminary, I'm sure the "avid cyclists" pushing for this change can too!

The city’s proposed “solutions” clearly lack majority residents’s support and have no bearing on the actual problem: reducing the ever increasing auto congestion on Seminary Road and Janneys Lane.

I believe this will only make our roads more congested and more dangerous.

First came the BRAC, then came a 2nd elementary school (the DM swing space at Patrick Henry). Now is not the time for a Road Diet. Improve crosswalks and signal timings instead.

Traffic is already heavy on this road and reducing the lanes is going to compound the problem.

I can't believe that reducing the number of drivable lanes on Seminary is even being considered. It must remain at four lanes

I oppose lane reduction proposals for Seminary Road. I am a long-time City resident who lives in the area and uses Seminary Road, daily. I shall vote to maintain the integrity of east-west access, in the
City.

Fully support this petition. By reducing to two car lanes, the city government would greatly exacerbate a problem of its own creation - the cut-through traffic for BRAC, mostly with Maryland plates, the creation of which was the direct result of bad planning by previous city administrations.

As a resident of Alexandria for 15 years, traveling Seminary Road everyday, I have hardly ever seen bicyclists. Traffic however, has gotten worse and worse each year. Turing 4 lanes into 3 for a bicycle lane will not help the residents of Alexandria, only hurt them.
