Please do NOT reduce number of lanes on Seminary road.

Reducing lanes and the speed limit on King Street has resulted in instances of reckless driving, to wit, passed by a car, which used the center turn lane because the speed limit was too low and no other passing option available. I have seen other instances of the same.

It's never a good idea to limit access on the main road to Alexandria Hospital! I oppose the T&ES proposal to reduce the number of lanes on Seminary Road between N. Howard Street and Quaker Lane from 4 to 2.

Don’t narrow our lanes and reduce the number of lanes.

The county staff are ignoring the views of the people. They thought they could trick us by not offering even one alternative that keeps four lanes without narrowing. They want to impose their views and ignore ours. Please City Council. Listen to us. Don’t let this runaway staff prevail over we the people.

Please keep Seminary Rd 4 lanes. Stop the road diet. It's so hard getting around Alexandria that we almost do all activities in Arlington!!! We pay too much in taxes to be pushed out of the city.

The changes on King Street between Seminary/Janneys and TC have exacerbated traffic in the AM/PM commute times and encourages cut-throughs in neighborhoods. Do not let this happen on Seminary and Van Dorn. Let's learn from our mistakes.

I drive this road multiple times a day and never see a bike rider.

The concept to reduce the lanes on seminary road is not a measure designed to help the residents of Alexandria, rather it is a measure to hurt the majority of Alexandria while helping a select few activists. In my 24 years of living in the city I have seen very few bicycles, however I have seen the traffic grow year after year. I consider this measure an affront to both myself and the residents of all of Alexandria city designed to back up traffic so much that one must bike or find a similar method of transportation. I wish the public officials would at least not be pussilaniumus enough to say it outright.

I'm sick and tired of the city using overly expensive taxes to create situations like this. Cut through traffic is a bane and the Seminary Road changes will make things worse. Living on Old Dominion I get to experience cut through traffic everyday since the speed bumps were installed on North Russell Road. I say JUST STOP!

Better to enforce the laws against speeding, aggressive driving, and distracted driving than to make the roads more hazardous to law-abiding citizens.

Please go to AlexandriaVA website and search "Seminary Road Complete Streets" to review traffic analysis and proposed improvements to this stretch of Seminary Road between Howard and Quaker Lane BEFORE signing this petition.

https://www.alexandriava.gov/tes/info/default.aspx?id=103393 To All Those Invited to Sign This Petition, Please note that NO information regarding the proposed changes to Seminary Road between Howard and Quaker Lane is included in this notice (that I could find, anyway...) The only information included is bold statements designed to scare Alexandria residents. Visit the link included in this post BEFORE signing this petition. There are narratives and traffic studies included described for each Alternate proposed (1 thru 3) that will help you form an INFORMED point of view. From what I read, there are basically NO negative impacts associated with Alternate 3 (reduction of 4 lanes to 2). There are only IMPROVEMENTS to vehicular, pedestrian, bicycle, bus and homeowners who rely on this stretch of Seminary Road. The traffic delays equate to 5 SECONDS at the worst 15 minutes of the day. In my opinion, arguing AGAINST the reduction of lanes on Seminary Lane makes as much sense as signing a petition to ADD two lanes to Janneys Lane and Fort Williams Parkway (reminder.... the roads just ONE block away from this stretch of Seminary Lane!!!) Please reconsider your point of view. Thank you, Emily Freeland
