I don't support narrowing our streets. Residents need to be able to get to kids to fields and schools during rush hour. The back ups on Russell Rd and King St and Braddock during rush hour shows one lane does not work. We can't get any.

Reducing vehicular lanes will create more traffic problems in an area that is already congested.

I oppose the reduction of traffic lanes on Seminary Road and other major arteries. Rampant development in Alexandria has increased the population density resulting in more traffic on the roads. Where the proposal for bike lanes has the support of a vocal minority, biking as a viable commuting option is not feasible for a large segment of the population for a myriad of reasons. As well, a proposal to eliminate or limit several bus routes for DASH will make alternatives to the automobile even less favorable.

I respectfully request: Do not place bike lanes on Seminary Rd. Do maintain 4 car lanes on Seminary Rd. Do not narrow Seminary Rd.

Stop the madness - the backups are insane and, although it hasn’t really been mentioned, vehicular delay significantly increases air pollution. Jay Legere MSCE Transportation and Traffic Engineering Virginia Tech

25 mph is ridiculous on Quaker Road. Please raise the speed limit to 35 mph

Traffic is bad enough already -- bike lanes would make it worse.

Do not reduce the road lanes. Bad idea. What did we benefit from King Street lanes reduction? More traffic jam.

The “road diet” should have never been allowed on King Street, which has absolutely made traffic on that stretch of road even worse, and should not be duplicated on Seminary Road. It will lead to the same problems. I continue to be frustrated and not understand why more bike lanes need to be stamped for approval by the City and installed when vehicular users are the super majority of the residents here. I am all for bicyclists enjoying our city - which already has ample bike lanes for use, by the way - but changes to our infrastructure should not occur to the extreme detriment of those who utilize our roads for personal and professional transportation by vehicle every day. These proposed changes are a penalty on those residents most of all and are misguided at best.

I have not noticed a significant number of cyclist utilizing King St (south and east from N Quaker Ln to Janneys Ln.) where we reduced lanes and added bike lanes. And that road is CLOSer to areas with higher population density, than the proposed stretch of Seminary. It's not time yet. Let's keep Seminary four lanes for now...

The City of Alexandria, my hometown, is only 15.5 square miles, no more. The City does not have the space for bikes and now, skooters. Too, the City is allowing folks from Maryland to come across the bridge and use our City as a convenient passage from MD to DC. Do not please reduce the lanes on Seminary Road. You on council have forced us to need each lane for auto traffic more than ever.! Judy Durand

Reducing the number of lanes is a bad idea. We need better leadership in Alexandria government.

I am not in favor of reducing the motor vehicle lanes on Seminary Road. With the new swing school at Patrick Henry the movement to the west end is only increasing.
