Centerville Residents Against Any More High Density Housing

Don't ruin Centerville with any more high density housing!!

I am opposed to high denesity housing in this residential area.

I grew up in this town and moved back home because of the unique town that Centerville has always been. I can't believe that high density housing is even being considered on Porter Lane. I don't know nor care who is trying to build it; it must be stopped. If you want to put in housing like this, go somewhere else. Common sense must win.

Centerville is not a large enough area for any more high-density buildings. I am 82+ and won't be around much longer but I want Centerville to remain the family friendly city that it is for those who will come and are already here. I've lived here for 55 years and I've seen many changes, some good some not so good, that are still costing us money we don't have...Please prayerfully consider your actions and don't be too quick to decide...Thank you. More high density in Centerville will destroy the small town feel of our community and only fatten Brighton Home's profit

I am opposed to the proposal of high density in the Walton Village development. I believe this development will decrease surrounding property values, increase crime and significantly increase traffic on surrounding streets. Take a look at the wonderful watercolor of the this historic area, that you have representing Centerville, at City Hall. It is picturesque.This area is picturesque. Now picture the same watercolor with what is proposed. Not a pretty sight in the watercolor and not a pretty sight in reality.

Please use common sense and stop the lunatic expansion of Centerville. Other than the 10 years I lived out of state for the military I've lived here all my life. If I wanted to live in a generic strip-mall/apartment-complex urban area in the country I would have not bothered coming home.

This Zone needs to stay low to medium density housing for the safety and security of our neighborhood. The high density housing next to the Megaplex causes parking issues as well as safety issues for our children. It has also caused high traffic on the west side of the freeway. If this was to be allowed the traffic would increase greatly making it more unsafe for our children to cross the street at 400 West and Porter lane. Walmart has already brought in too much traffic in our town. We do not need the increased traffic from high density housing.

Once structures have been built, there is no going back. We don't need anymore high density housing. We have plenty! It would just bring more traffic, congestion and will require more police officers and traffic lights; which will cause more stress on schools and churches --- and bring higher taxes. We don't need or want this!

Centervilee is a wonderful place to live. Let's keep it family friendly and build the kind of Centerville that will continue to be that way. We need to build Centerville for the future, but we need to be careful how we build it.

I moved to Centerville because I was impressed with the small town feel of it, and I love it! HD housing doesn't belong here, and the planning commission should remember the spirit of this city's founding.

New high density housing should be kept west of the I-15 overpass. People want to live in Centerville because of the small-town, home-town feeling. Sadly, much of that feeling has been destroyed by many of the recent developments in town. However, there is still hope for the long-term residential population and home-town feeling of Centerville by enforcing and maintaining low density housing zones in our town. The developer knew the zoning of the property when they purchased it, if they were looking for high density housing they should have purchased elsewhere.

When we moved to Davis county from Cache Valley 6years ago we chose Centerville to make our home because it had that small town feel yet was near to the city and the homes had surprisingly large yards. We bought a smaller home on Main Street and started our family there and now that our family has grown we have been wanting to stay in or close to centerville and build our forever home. The problem we've faced is that the majority of lots available are small or being sold to have a "cookie cutter" house on it. If you want to develop that area keep it for individually built (NO COOKIE CUTTERs) residential homes on decent acreage- at least 1/2 acre. Centerville will then gain/keep residents as well as keeping that small town/country feel where you can have a horse or some chickens in your backyard and children have wide open spaces to run and play.

Looking at these plans, I feel this is an inappropriate use of the land and not in line with a more comprehensive plan for the Centerville Main Street area.

I live just one block east of the proposed site and I am 400% against this project - horrible idea.

I love Centerville for how safe, small town, and family friendly it is. Please keep it that way.

I think the members of the Planning Commission have a duty to have an email address available for contact from the public. I feel disappointed that the city hasn't assigned each member of the commission an account at centervilleut.com. The things done in the Planning Commission have immediate and long lasting effects upon the citizens of Centerville. We need a way to have communications which we can record, without getting into trouble for recording phone conversations. This is the 21st century. I oppose high density housing in Centerville. We are not Salt Lake City. We don't have to follow their model.
