We would like the owners of Aston Villa FC to recognise the amazing achievements of former manager Ron Saunders. Ron who took the club from the old 2nd Division to champions of England and European Cup Quarter Finalists in 8 great years. The fans and former players would like the renaming of the North Stand to ‘Ron Saunders Stand’. They would also like a statue featuring Ron Saunders, similar to William McGregor statue, to be commissioned and placed by the entrance to the North Stand.

As a Trinity Upper Season Ticket Holder, I experienced the achievements of Ron Saunders first hand. A true Club Legend. Time to create a lasting tribute to Ron’s achievements.

Our greatest ever Manager deserves to be honoured properly and respectfully. The renaming of the. Or th Stand to the Ron Saunders Stand would be, in my opinion, a fitting tribute.

A true gentleman. You can see him still in the players that played for him today. Peter, Des, Allen, Dennis, Gary x 2, Tony, Jimmy, Nigel etc. He created a team that played the game by giving their all. Ron Saunders is our Legend

Ron Saunders is the GREATEST manager Villa ever had. His achievements at our helm need a physical recognition, so that all can see/remember how he encouraged and got from the players at his disposal what was necessary to reach the heights his boys did

1972 in 3rd Division. Saunders appointed 1974. League Cup winners and promoted 1975. League Cup winners 1977. League CHAMPIONS 1981, European Cup winners 1982 ( ten years after being in 3rd Division). Surely there can't be any argument against Ron and others from that era being suitably honoured?
