We request that an appropriate memorial be sited at the location of the new Cardiff City FC stadium to honour and extraordinary achievement and fond community memory of the 1927 Cardiff City squad which lifted the FA Cup trophy on behalf of our club.
In their honour we request that a plaque listing the full squad and a statue of the goalscorer in the Cup Final; Hughie Ferguson, be erected.
Ferguson scored the only goal in the final and he, along with his team mates, are part of this clubs proud history. As one of the greatest moments in that history, we believe the squad and man himself, should be rightly honoured at a time when we look to the future and the new stadiums construction. Let us not forget those who helped make our club what it is today.
The board has spent enough time ignoring our history while they focus only on the new stadium. This surge in support proves they cannot sweep the 1927 squad under the rug anymore.

Cardiff legend Hughie deserves his statue. It is about time the club actually remembered the boys who brought the cup home.
