Clearing so many trees is an overkill. Accidents happen and people collide with trees along many roads and interstate highways - it’s always been the case and chance we take when driving. It is environmentally a shame we keep taking away habitat away from wildlife. I wonder how much money Penndot made from selling the timber?! Good luck and I hope this petition helps to stop further destruction.

I used to live in Mckean..traveled this route often, never saw a problem. Now the snow will be blowing across the road, causing more accidents as it does near Edinboro

I am on several non-profit organizations' boards who are working hard to make NW Pennsylvania a better place to work and live. Trees not only support an improved quality of life, they support life itself. I understand safety concerns, but obliterating trees within interstate medians is wrong in so many ways. The 30 feet setback makes sense. Cutting beyond that distance makes no sense at all. Please revise your policy and replant trees! And while I've got you, why don't you do something about removing phragmites and other invasive plants from your right-of-ways? Pretty soon, if nothing is done about this, there will be nothing but foreign plants up and down every interstate. Thank you.

If you want to protect lives, put up guard rails. Don't take down trees!

I wonder what the reason for this is-- unless it benefits someone in Pendots friend/ family financially

Trees hold carbon, reduce noise, hold dirt and water runoff and provide much needed oxygen, and habitat. Keeping the trees are a win-win for all Pennsylvanians. Stop cutting trees!

There are millions of trees, in thousands of medians on US interstates.... I fail to see why these trees would cause accidents. Id much rather be stopped by a tree in the median and avoid crossing into opposing lanes during an accident

Put up freaking guard rails, there is 600,000 going into cutting trees down but you didn’t consider putting barriers?... wait until winter when a blizzard hits and the state has to close 79 because the snow drifts in that area are horrendous and causing people to slice off the road... THOSE TREES SAVE LIVES

Please stop the clear cutting of the trees. This is a misguided effort and needs to be halted immediately.

The trees blocked headlights from on-coming traffic. Over reaching bogus attack on our environment.

It looks so horrible now and I can only imagine how many animals were killed or displaced by removing these beautiful trees that have been there for probably over 50 years. Makes me feel sick when I drive past it now. :-(

The clearing of trees to prevent possible fatalitites along the highways is unnecessary, unsupported and unjustified. There is also a negative impact on wildlife. I'm sure the money received for the lumber by the state is a factor in cutting them down. The resources should be used for repairing our pot-hole ridden state.

I agree with the fact that you can put up guardrails. I think this is just another abuse of taxpayers $$$$$$$$$$$. Harry Evanoff
