We need more trees. Stop and at least replant some for wind and snow relief.

PennDOT’s clearcutting is bad public policy, based on an analysis that ignores more factors than it considers. It’s about time some adults took charge of that agency.

This seems like an extremly not-well-thought-out action. These tree buffers provide much more safety for a greater number of drivers (wind & snow buffer, light buffer for oncoming traffic to reduce eye fatigue) than the risk PennDOT is claiming.
And let's face it...out of state visitors find PA highways beautiful for a reason - this is Penn's Wood's, not Penn's Tallgrass Prairie. These tree highway corridors are part of the character and beauty of traveling this state.

We need those trees on the I-79. What is Penndot thinking. The wind and snow storms will be magnified without a tree barrier. Don't take any more.

This is one of the worst decisions, it’s environmentally damaging for one and for two) you are ridding the center median of trees that prevent you from shooting to the other side of the highway when people are speeding 85 in that 76 mile zone in the dead of winter. 2 people have died out of the how many that have ended up in that area? ONLY 2 PEOPLE SO HOW IS THIS REALLY HELPING?!

Reconsider. It is unnecessary and destructive. It looks and feel like sadness. Our trees are being killed.

This is not the way to go about making the highway safer! In fact, the highway will be much more dangerous in the winter once the trees are no longer there to protect cars from the blistering winds!

We need trees for so many reasons. The state ought to be preserving as many as possible, not cutting them down.
