Please leave the trees along our highways. They buffer the winter winds and help to purify the air of exhaust. Please explore other ways to make our highways safe and do not ignore the benefits of trees along the roadways.

I commute every day on I-79 and have been saddened by the removal of these trees. I have noticed more dead deer on the road as a result of this. Sickening.

When I drove north on I-79 and saw this clear cut "mess" I couldn't believe my eyes! Not only the trees, but the soil there is totally compacted and I don't even know how many pieces of heavy equipment were sitting on it. The whole area is destroyed. I don't agree with this action by PennDOT at all. Their rationale seems faulty at best.

The trees need to be there for a wind break , help the ecosystem and prevent vehicles from crossing over. They now need to replant trees

This clearcutting is irresponsible, life threatening to travelers of this stretch of 79 and a clear case of fraudful waste and abuse of government funds. PLEASE STOP THIS AWFUL WASTEFUL ACTION.

As a member of the Pennsylvania Association of Environmental Educators, and knowing the critical importance our green infrastructure is to combat the ravages of climate events, and help reduce the toxic CO2 emissions that are causing the warming of our planet, it is with grave concern that I implore Governor Tom Wolf to address this backward thinking practice of clear cutting of our Pennsylvania medians, when it is a practice embraced by states all over the country. For safety...put up guardrails as God intended!
