CCT research has been for years now an influential force in marketing and consumer behavior. And especially as consumers become more empowered through social media and shape brands in a multi-vocal environment, having a place where CCT researchers can examine the shifting conditions of contemporary markets is of prime importance for the overall field, in order to retain and expand its relevance. I hope that ANZMAC will reconsider its decision.

The removal of the CCT track forces scholars in the discipline to submit to the CB track, which results in different audiences speaking different languages sitting in the same room and getting exposed to content that may be tangential to their interests. While cross-pollination across paradigmatic fields is often beneficial, having such a stark epistemological divide runs the risk of having experimentalists asking what are the hypotheses to grounded theory researchers. Civil wars started for less.

If this was an attempt to revitalize two withering tracks, I might have some understanding. But my understanding is that this is not at all the case. I strongly encourage the nurturing of pluridisciplinarity through the explicit recognition of the existence of (at least) two globally acknowledged approaches to the study of consumption phenomena. It would be shortsighted to discontinue this track by incorrectly assuming that CCT is commensurate to the cognitive-behavioral approach. I moved to New Zealand this year partly because of the energy of the active CCT community in Australasia.

We have had four sequential years of CCT tracks since Jan and Lauren introduced the first CCT track. Each has been very well attended and last year, we had outgoing and incoming JCR editors (Darren Dahl, Eileen Fischer and Linda Price) attend the conference, largely due to their connections to the Australasian CCT community. (I did not see any editors of Marketing Science, JMR or JM attend ANZMAC.). This is extremely short sighted. I call for CCT to be an institutionalised track and for you to urgently add it to the 2018 conference - I doubt there would be a shortage of volunteers to chair the track.

Australia and New Zealand are the home of many fine scholars, and indeed pioneers, within the CCT community. It is surprising, and, I would assert, shortsighted to learn of plans to discontinue the CCT Track at the ANZMAC conference. In the past, it has attracted several prominent international scholars as well, as speakers and attendees. Please reconsider this decision. Thank you.

I was very much interested in the CCT workshop of ANZMAC 2017. It would be a regret to let it go in this year conference.

It would be very sad to see the CCT track going. We need to have diverse perspectives when it comes to knowledge exchange.

CCT has been proud of ANZMAC's openness to the paradigm's value, and given the conference an important additional dimension for CCT scholars around the world. Why fix what's not broken!

Consumer Behaviour and CCT are not necessarily commensurate in a Kuhnian sense. CCT deserves a separate track.

As a past co-chair, I reiterate the value for CCT scholars who do not have the financial support to travel beyond Australasia. This is an opportunity for discipline specific feedback that doctoral colloquiums are not always able to provide. Encouraging a diversity of perspective is surely beneficial for the ANZMAC community?

The very idea of an ANZMAC conference without a CCT track is disturbing. CCT papers and sessions are broadening and intellectually fertile, even for those that mistrust the methodologies and would relegate the work to "exploratory" status. Please reinstate the track and show that ANZMAC is open to new ideas and multiple ways of knowing.

As I a past co-chair of a CCT track at ANZMAC and co-organiser of multiple CCT workshops in the area, I know there is growing interest in the CCT research area. CCT needs to move from being an option track at ANZMAC to a permanent track. Embracing diversity of theoretical perspective will only make the ANZMAC community stronger. Building bridges is key.

CCT represents an important collective, worldwide. There are many colleagues willing to support ANZMAC in the the inclusion of CCT work in this and future conferences. We should seek to have the track a permanent fixture at ANZMAC.

Over the years, the CCT track has been a significant spark to intellectual dialogue and innovation. It is hard to understand the rationale for such a restriction on intellectual diversity. Please reconsider this decision
