Making every student follow the same curriculum doesn't do anything. It doesn't privide a more "fair chance". If anything, it's LESS fair. Doing this isn't helping anyone. How does this benefit students and give them a "fair" chance. YOUR REASONING. IS UNREASONABLE.

This is so unfair! We are in a magnet school because we want to learn, we want to study hard and learn hard. If they shut down magnet school, us students, especially from schools with high curriculum will be leaning what we have already learned in our magnet schools. Us students who are very intelligent will put all those years of learning to waste.. Magnet kids have learned many or more things than zoned schools can teach, and with nobody to teach us anymore , our future, what we've all been trying to achieve will be nothing but a dream.

This is so unfair! We are in a magnet school because we want to learn, we want to study hard and learn hard. If they shut down magnet school, us students, especially from schools with high curriculum will be leaning what we have already learned in our magnet schools. Us students who are very intelligent will put all those years of learning to waste.. Magnet kids have learned many or more things than zoned schools can teach, and with nobody to teach us anymore , our future, what we've all been trying to achieve will be nothing but a dream.

CCSD has proposed to make all schools teach the same curriculum and restrict students to going to their zoned schools so they can save money on transportation and prevent overcrowding. This would prevent students from going to magnet schools and would deprive us of a good education. We would have to go to a normal school and wouldn't be able to take the high level classes they are ready for. Also, we wouldn't have the opportunity to take as many AP classes, and the math and science courses would be too easy for us. This would make it difficult for us to make it into a good college or university, which would also impact our career. We are the future of America, and the world. In order to succeed and live a prosperous life, we need a good education. Clark County School District needs to put education before money.

The Clark County School District is one of the largest school districts in the United States. In this vast and varied population of students which study in the public system, paid by the taxes of Americans, the Clark County School District and the federal government are attempting to create one piece of legislation that will destroy many children's hopes and dreams for their future. The United States of America is lagging behind in the worldwide rankings for education and many other things. Attempting to destroy these intelligent young people's futures would be a complete failure on the part of the Federal Government, the State of Nevada, and Clark County. We need to keep the district's magnet programs! These programs help students learn at an advanced level that they might not be able to access at a normal school. Magnet programs have personally helped me in ways that not only have to do with academics, but also with world skills like time management and organization. School became a challenge that I loved to face. I also made some of my best friends (that I would've met otherwise) in the magnet program. The ramifications of cancelling these amazing programs would certainly bring the CCSD education system down. Nevada is already around 47th on the education state rankings, if the magnet programs get cut off, our education ratings would drop faster than they already are.
