You can't just take kids out of the advanced program they've chosen for themselves. We, as students have a right to choose where we are educated. Taking that right away means disregarding the lives of all of us. If the school district thinks instant changes can be made just because students are hard to buss to school, think about the fact that the student population in Nevada is hardworking, intelligent, and highly determined. The fact that the school district would even propose such an idea that destroys the early academic careers of your students is going so far as to say that your students don't matter against your expenses, and that we are not worth the trouble it is to educate us in the best way possible. Not only is that incredibly ageist, but it is also a reflection of how little the higher branches of education wish to accommodate highly gifted students. It is ridiculous that I even have to voice this.

I believe the school district is making a terrible mistake,and if we don't stand up magnet students are educations will get affected. The magnet program is the only thing keeping Nevada's education scores higher than they should be. People at magnet schools may not be smarter than the people at there zoned school,but the difference is we go to magnet school to study harder, work harder,and get an education for further life to help us. I know I go to school saying I come here to be with kids who want to learn and not mess around and bring me down. Why should kids who come to school to learn and grow as people have to be affected by kids who don't care. We have to keep the magnet program for kids to grow at there highest potential,and not be affected by kids who don't.
