As Centra College of Nursing students, it is our desire to receive test grades in a timely manner. The current student handbook states, "test grades will be posted in MOODLE within five (5) business days of the test day". We, the students, believe this length of time is far exceeds what is reasonable. We move to have the handbook amended and the policy changed. By signing this petition, you are expressing the desire to have test grades be posted within two (2) business days of the test day. Nursing school has its own unique set of stressors and sources of anxiety, waiting up to five (5) business days for a test grade should not be one of them.

I am currently finalizing a formal letter to the administration outlining the case for a two day turnaround policy. This document will be delivered to the registrar office once the final editing phase is complete.

Not being able to go over our grades after class worsens my anxiety. I find it harder to focus on other courses or moving forward in the current course. Nursing school is supposed to gear me in the right direction and it has added extra stress that I am personally having trouble coping with. I am currently talking with my healthcare provider about getting on a medication to help with this stress. Since our test grades are pretty much our only grades it would give me piece of mind and the ability to focus on other topics. Also, Thursday’s class gets thier test grades the day after they take the test whereas we have to wait 4 which isn’t fair.
During first and second semester we were allowed to have test reviews after our tests. This in turn allowed us to get an idea of what our grade would be before a test analysis was done. Even if we can no longer have test reviews we should at least get our grades posted 24-48 hours after the test. Second semester all of our teachers were very efficient at getting the grades into moodle the day of the test. It should be no different for third and forth semester. Having to wait for the Thursday section to take their test before Monday’s section grades can be posted makes no since at all. How is Monday’s section “numbered” test grade going to effect how the Thursday section tests? Please overturn this policy!! It’s stressful to have to wait almost four days for our grade.
I agree that waiting 5 days for a test grade is a horrible distraction and it is harder to focus on studying, SIM, and family.
We understand the school wants to discourage cheating. However, I do not see the reasoning behind making us wait 4 days for our test grade. PLEASE CHANGE THIS!

Having to wait on test grades raises anxiety levels and makes it hard to concentrate. I don't see what posting a grade and harm/hinder/assist the next class on taking their test. I understand not reviewing but simply posting 2 numbers shouldn't matter.
