CCA Parent's Plea for a Virtual Option

Dear CCA, hear the hearts of your school community before it is too late.

As a private institution, the concerns and voices of the parents and students should have been heard before making a decision that impacts our lives daily. Your inflexibility to offer options to concerned, paying families is disheartening.

I feel that the CCA administration didn’t give parents the platform to voice our concerns. Simply put by Pastor Paul, “If you don’t feel comfortable, withdraw your child(ren).” There was no thought process about kids that may have pre-existing conditions or families that could be compromised by sending their child to the school.

My main concern is the potential exposure when we don't have to place any in potentially unsafe environments - Virtual Learning is our BEST Option.

Opening schools during this pandemic’s second wave will be detrimental to our families and friends. This situation isn’t getting better, it’s getting worse! CONTINUE VIRTUAL CLASSROOMS

As a Godparent, I have attended a myriad of activities from athletic games/practices to plays to graduations to college announcements. Throughout, I have been in amazement of CCA and the “family-life” it exudes. As this virus can attack anyone, I believe it would be detrimental to have an outbreak amongst the “staff, students and parents family”. Please reconsider a different option to support a strong, loving virtual family....for now.

We need a virtual option!

I’m signing this petition as I prefer virtual learning instead of in class instruction due to COVID-19 for my child.

Please reconsider this decision. It is not safe for our children at this time.

My cousins have attended this school for years. What does this do to a child entering the 12th grade. For a Christian school, have a heart. No one is willing to bury a child because administration is only interested in getting money. Virtual school for the fall should be the only way.

The lives of my Niece and Nephew should not be jepodized. As a Nurse Anesthetist who have intubated Covid patient s while they are struggling to create this has left me emotionally traumatized. No one's safety should be put in jeopardy if there are viable options available.

I have been attending Christ Chapel Academy for the last eight years. I am now entering my senior year, and would love to finish at the school I have been working hard at for most of my life. This is disheartening and unacceptable that I have been given an ultimatum to risk my health for an education or to leave and find another school to attend. I know i am not the only student that feels this was, so I am asking Christ Chapel Academy to please make the correct decision and give an option to have online school for those who do not feel safe attending school in person.

We've been extremely active and supportive CCA parents and are heartbroken for our son and the friends we've all made there, however, we've already withdrawn and enrolled our child elsewhere and had honestly been consistently more underwhelmed with CCA each of the past four years. This grossly negligent and uncaring attitude is the final blow. They're in ourvrearview and no longer worth our grey matter. Trust has been broken. They've made their decision and know they don't have to concern themselves with our concerns. If they cared what we thought or had any care whatsoever about the safety of our children or their own staff they would've sought our opinions long ago, as public school administrators did. The dogmatic approach of us paying tuition and being told how things will be without care for our input is unacceptable. Even during a normal school year emails to administrators aren't answered and when they are it is with defensiveness. At this point trust in anything they do should be carefully vetted. They are not Christian based, but revenue based with a Christian front. The opportunity to disprove this impression has passed. This is why we've seen our son's classmates disappear each new school year. CCA is not technologically prepared for a virtual environment and did nothing to prepare for the inevitable in the past 4.5 months. This should be a sign to parents

Unfortunately we've already withdrawn our daughter from to begin homeschooling using Abeka for the first semester but would love to bring her back to finish out the year with her CCA family❤

We don’t want anyone to be exposed to this virus by sending our children, teachers, administrators and staff into this environment at this crucial time.

My family has submitted and exception to policy letter on behalf of our daughter, we do agree, families should be involved in making vital choices that pertain to their children's safety. I also would like the board to consider replacing the administrator. CCA needs leadership that will consider parents perspectives for the safety and well-being of our children. CCA needs an administrator that will be a team of all not one. Thank you.

With All of Northern Virginia in virtual training, CCA should go virtual for the sake of children's health?

We have had our children in Christ Chapel Academy since pre-school, and are happy with the education they’ve received. We are so looking forward to what’s to come for them, and all we are looking for is an option for our kids to do attend school virtual until we are sure things are safe.

You will not kill my friends with your incompetence.

Mask are a need to keep people alive! Virtual option would be great so the teachers can be safe at their already difficult and low paying job!
