Keep masks required for the safety of our children

Several careers require use of masks for safety to the wearer and/or members of the public. Not just doctors and nurses, construction workers, factory workers and others exposed to atmospheric contaminants (biological and non- biological). Wearing masks is an inconvenience, only a fool would mistake that for abuse. Or maybe someone trying to use fear to push their political agenda.

Anyone who isn’t vaccinated should still be wearing a mask. Period.

The real “abuse” is not doing everything in our power to keep our children safe until a vaccine is available for all ages. Wear a mask, wash your hands and space out.

misinformation and fear-mongering have no place in positions of school board leadership. We must strive to better represent all of our district’s students through factual information and transparency in leadership.

I still have a child who cannot be vaccinated and masks are keeping him safe. He has always been susceptible to lung issues, so I think it’s wrong for the board to lift this until all ages have the chance to be vaccinated. It’s not abuse; it’s protecting our children who otherwise don’t qualify for protection right now. Those who wish to unmask their kids, I hope they don’t have an underlying health condition you aren’t aware of, but I guess you are willing to take that risk.

Covid is still a risk to our children because they are not vaccinated yet.

This “masks are child abuse” narrative is disgusting and dangerous. It must stop.

I have never commented on either side, however it appears focus is lost on the big picture, our kids. We need to stop the divide and come together as one team. Our children deserve better, our teachers deserve better, our community deserves better!!

The school year is almost over, and while we are moving in the right direction in terms of overall case counts, we need to stay the course and minimize the exposure for our children until the time is right.

Kristine I believe we need to wear masks now until things change. I would be dangerous and unsettling to the children to make any changes now. Let them finish out the year.

As a parent of child who was diagnosed with an autoimmune disorder during the height of the pandemic last spring, unmasking anyone who is unvaccinated is foolish, selfish and dangerous.
