The mask mandate has not been lifted. I believe Gov Wolf said June 28th or until we reach 70% of the population being vaccinated. Additionally, the 12-15 range will not be fully vaccinated until after school is over. And I believe the CDC directive is to wear a mask until you are fully vaccinated. That would only apply to high schoolers at this point. It's 9 days - why risk it?

"Carpenters are not the only people who could be affected by the face mask shortage. Dentist, Dental Assistants, and Doctors to name a few are other professions that require wearing a face mask to protect themselves." (And yes, surgeons and all of the various positions who work in an OR wear masks all day long, along with nurses and other floor staff in many units of a hospital.)

There are some of us who have been overly exhausted for over a year now, working with patients and dealing with covid in our everyday work lives. We have not had the luxury of time to spend creating drama. Please allow the science to guide your decisions. Masks work. There are merely days left in the school year. Don’t give in to bullies.

I found it telling when the kids chose to continue to wear masks on their own. An example is when the district boys volleyball teams chose to wear masks when playing even when they were not required to any longer.

My only agenda is to provide normalcy for my children. Masks on all children in school is not normal. If you look at the numbers (hospitalizations and deaths) relating to children you will find they ARE safe without masks.

Health decisions should be made on science and health and what is good for the school population overall, not parental preference.

Agreed, the vaccine is available for all who are worried or vulnerable. We are extremely fortunate that kids aren’t severely affected by Covid (look at the data). It is common sense to allow kids to remove their masks.

Perfect. Those who want to wear masks can continue to do so.

Totally agree. Here are some. Kids don’t die from Covid. Any adult wanting a vaccine can get one and protect themselves. Required masking in schools is unnecessary to achieve the outcome everyone wants.

These stunts being pulled are deplorable. With two weeks left of the school year? Child abuse for a kid to wear a mask? This behavior does not represent me or my family or any family that I know.

We must listen to science and facts. We must protect children, the vulnerable, the immune-compromised and the elderly. Masking in schools does this.

Please consider listening to testimonials from students about how they feel wearing masks. I'm sure you will find that most are fine with doing their part to help get us to the end of the pandemic!

I am a CB parent, but also work as an Occupational Therapist in a CB school. Please do not change the mask requirement. It is nothing close to child abuse, and keeps us safe in uncertain times.
