Cause A Storm

Why didn't I just move my family to Ootelwah, homes were much cheaper and the area nicer. Will be selling our home in East Hamilton and moving as soon as possible.

This is extremely disappointing that parents were not at all involved in this process. This is the only reason we do not live in Ootelwah, we wanted to be in the East Hamilton School district. I will be taking this to the school board, for a new Principal to come in and pull this is not a good start.

This is a great thing I fully support individuality!!!

My family just relocated to Chattanooga and one of the main reasons we chose East Hamilton was due to the fact there was not a dress code. We have already purchased his clothes for the coming school year, which are now completely useless. Very disappointed with this decision.

I like the fact that they think clothes effects the learning environment

I believe that there are tons of people that are different shapes and sizes and these people are not comfortable with khakis and a polo. I believe this is ridiculous that we have to go through this work to buy a polo and khakis. Some people don’t have the money to buy these things I believe we should change dress code

This dress code is ridiculous. Parents should not have to buy a whole seperate wardrobe for their kids to go to a PUBLIC SCHOOL.

I HATE THE DRESS CODE

I have recently discovered that East Hamilton will have strict uniforms this school year. Here are my thoughts and feelings on this matter - It will not stop bullying, some people can’t afford “School Appropriate” cloths. Also all body’s are different shapes and sizes, some students may feel uncomfortable which in the long run could cause lack of self esteem - Not only may this cause bullying but this takes away students creativity we are supposed to express diversity through the clothing that we wear. The uniforms are not telling the students to celebrate their differences but to conform which is not a positive way for the students to reflect - Lastly, I believe that the uniforms are not female oriented because girls can not carry purses that are normally used to hide pads or tampons which can cause bullying as well. What are the girls expected to do, carry a feminine product out in the open Some may disagree but I feel the uniforms are more of a problem than a solution n

I believe that we should change the dress code because some people think that this will stop bullying. I believe this will cause bullying because some kids might not be able to afford these outfits,so some kids might wear the same clothes and that will cause bullying. This also takes away creativity from the student it also takes away self esteem. Now I understand that some people don’t wear school appropriate clothes and we do need some boundaries. Also a lot of people are different shapes and sizes and some people might not feel confident in khakis and a polo so they should be able to wear something they are comfortable in. Lastly the uniform dose not include females thoughts and emotions

Not to mention how much money i’ll have to spend on new wardrobes*

Both of my children go to this school. I have one going into his senior year and one going into his freshman year. My oldest son has loved his years at East Hamilton and hasn’t complained once about the dress code they used to have in place. I fear that my other son will feel miserable and not want to even attend a school that he has to constantly worry about not getting in trouble over what he wears instead of worrying about academics. Not to much the money i’ll have to spend on two children for entirely new wardrobes.

This is absolutely ridiculous. It is far more distracting for a kid to get detention for no belt then someone minding there own business wth there knees showing. I’m for a dress code limits, but this is not a private school.

This is out of my price range to have these things tailored for my daughter who has long legs, big thighs, and a tiny waste. THIS IS NOT HOW YOU INTRODUCE YOURSELF TO 2,000 parents

Block schedule just makes getting our work done so much more stressful. And the dress code ?? Seriously on my senior year of high school ?

I cant afford to spend hundreds of dollars on a new wardrobe!

It is unfair to endorce a dress code that forces students and parents to buy clothes specific to it. Not everyone can afford a whole new wardobe with hemmed or cuffed pants. Its PUBLIC school not private school. If the school pays for the new uniforms that would be different but they dont.

This dress code strips us of our individuality and has no effect on the learning aspects of our school
