This is way too strict and limits the ability to express ourselves.

4 weeks notice for a complete overhaul of the dress code is a little ridiculous. There are some of us single parents who work 60 plus hours a week to put a roof over our child’s head and send them to your school. Now you want to make us pay MORE for a whole new wardrobe on top of paying all your school fees? This school has become a joke

4 weeks notice of a complete overhaul of a long standing dress code. Since the email received today in response to the one I sent last night voicing my concern and aggravation, stated it was to “insure safety” I ask, what “safety” issues has a girl in leggings or a jacket with a pocket has caused at this school?

Some things are fine. But not being able to wear boots and hoodies? It isn’t even involved with safety and “distractions anymore! It’s taking away our individuality and freedom

This is amazing. I really hate the new dress code because you can’t wear designs on your shirt which makes it hard to express yourself

There is no point in suppressing the daily self expression that is our clothing and I don’t believe that there should be a change without a proper reasoning.

this dress code is way too strict, some people do abandon the dress code more than they should by a long shot but the whole school doesn’t need to be punished for someone else’s behavior

Our clothes shouldnt represent what we learn. I didn't leave East Ridge just to come back to dress code. It's ridiculous.

I respect everything the school does, and usually I never complain, there’s never been a complain about me by any teacher or anything. But I cannot follow this dress code. In the day and age we live in, individuality is what we need. I don’t know about other kids but my mom works so much just so my 2 siblings and I can have clothes for school. Pants are 50$ each and that is way too much, so buying a whole new wardrobe for this uniform is out rageous. I’m not about to waste my moms money just so I can look the same as everyone else.

Apparently the school values controling what we wear more than our education if they’re willing to put me in ISS for wearing skin tight jeans.

Yes! Please do! I encourage everyone to reach out to the school board, the new principal, administration, and even local news to help raise awareness! Keep it positive, keep it non-vulgar, and keep it honest and it will totally benefit us all!!

It’s understandable to ban things like duffel bags and coats inside for saftey reasons related to gun violence. However, this dress code is just ridiculous and impractical for the cold. Y’all are telling me girls can’t carry purses or hoodies with pockets so what you just want us to walk around carrying tampons and pads? All of this is a bit much to start first year at school that’s never had a dress code.
