You all know I cannot go a day without a hoodie. Most of you haven’t seen my arms in person

before people get upset with this, i HAVE read the comments and do understand cases where this dress code can’t be met. i agree that the school did an awful job of informing the students and parents about the dress code so late but was it such a idiotic decision from the school that not even a full week went by and you students have made a petition?? sorry but i’m upset by both the school and the students

in addition to this, the excuse that people will basically be buying another wardrobe is kinda silly... if you don’t have the accepted items on East Hamilton’s dress code list or whatever then i think that says more about you than the school...

Dress codes are so 70's. Geesh, get over it. Dealt with this NAZI crap back then and it didn't help anyone. Only made kids resent authority! School is to learn, not how to dress. The expense would be terrible when kids need to be buying school supplies, not different clothes!

I understand the want for more structure, but this limits students individualism in a time in the US where expressing who you are is the biggest thing.

I always where my east ham hoodie and honestly this new dress code will just take away the small amount of school spirit

With a few days over a month before school starts having parents buy all new school clothes for children is ridiculous! I grew up in a “learning” environment with a policy very similar! Focus is shifted from learning to monitoring dress code. Teachers become police for belts and tucked in shirts. Have a dress code is completely different than this standardized dress they have released.

The cost of this decision would be outrageous for parents/guardians. This short of a notice is completely unfair. Also, I believe it would cause more distraction then not.

The dress we have now is only going to make things more complicated for us and for our staff! Having it the way we have had it for years will cause less chaos.
