South Bay needs more surf culture recognition, this is where it all started.

Hello, I’m from France and I did 5 Catalina crossing between 2009 and 2019. I won the the 2019 stock division, it was such an accomplishment for me ! I’m so grateful to all the volunteers and paddlers to have welcome me that well. This race is the cradle of modern paddleboarding, it’s part of history and all the paddlers around the world dream of doing this race. Please let’s do this statue !!!

I’m a former resident of Manhattan Beach in the 60s and 70s, and always love going to the another race from Catalina. I highly support this

Eeven though I am from Ireland, I have known about the Catalina Classic since a child. I had hoped to compete in 2021, if the universe allows I will in 2022. Its a globally recognised paddle board race, that inspires athletes far beyond California.

The Stories and history that this statue would represent go far beyond just physical and visual. When people see this they will be curious to the live of these watermen/women and maybe even inspire the next water generation and environmental thinkers generations to come
