This is ridiculous. Bring back the 30 year rolling exemption. I have a 1976 car and can't find the smog parts for it anymore.

Many old cars struggle to pass smog anyways, in about 5 years, these old cars will not be able to pass because of increasing emissions requirements, best to let them out of the smog requirement ASAP.

I have always been an honest and devoted car enthusiast, with no objection to smog laws and compliance. But I feel strongly that as time passes on, the exemption laws should remain a rolling date and not a hard date printed on paper. I enjoy working and driving the older cars on weekends in good weather, but the laws are making it harder and harder to be in compliance. I sign this petition in hopes that the state has an ear open to those truly in the car scene for pure love and enjoyment, and not seen as kids trying to break smog laws. There is a difference.
