Pero te digo que comparto plenamengte el analisis que se hace en la carta a LASA.
Yo estaba elaboirando mi opinion personal pero me adjunto a esta por considerarla correcgta.
NO PODEMOS PERMITIR QUE NADIE, CON LA INTENCIONES QUE SEAN, NOS QUIERA RETROTRAER
A LOS MOEMENTOS EN QUE NO LOGRABAMOS ENTENDERNOS.HEMOS AVANZADO MUCHO, PARA ACEPTAR
VOVER ATRAS.

It is clear the statement is a sop to those who wished for a more critical stance. The result is a weak and contradictory position that neither states specifically what the alleged concerns about human rights in Cuba are, nor fully supports whomsoever it purports to be defending. One is left with a vaguely worded statement that requires us to know the cases it does not name. No one unfamiliar with Cuba will have the faintest idea what it is about. It is therefore a meaningless gesture that does not reflect well on the institution that produced it. LASA is by and large a liberal institution, composed mainly of members who, if they are not liberals themselves, work for liberal institutions and it is based in the leading liberal capitalist country in the world. It should hardly be surprising therefore that it should expound the principles of 'democracy, human rights and the rule of law'. Cuba is not a liberal democracy, holds a different view on human rights and does not adhere to the principle of the 'rule of law' in the bourgeois sense. It stands for a qualitatively different approach to the building of a society and challenges these tenets in the most fundamental way. Nothing that LASA can say or do will alter the political direction that Cuba takes, but being based in the US, there is a lot it can do to alter the US policy towards Cuba. It behoves LASA and its members to study the situation carefully and not fall into the trap of appeasing those whose objective is the overthrow of the Cuban government. By allowing itself to be forced into weakly criticising Cuba by the machinations of a few (I cannot believe it is 'many') of its members whose right wing views are not shared by the majority, LASA has undermined its credibility and its ability to make the case for the only political action that can improve the human rights of Cubans on both sides of the Florida Straits - the total lifting of all US political and economic sanctions.

En mi opinion esa declaracion de la directiva de LASA le hace el juego a quienes pretenden inmiscuirse en nuestros asuntos internos. Se irrespeta a la membresia de esta asociacion residente en Cuba y en particular a quienes durante tantos años han trabajado dentro y fuera de la isla por mantener un intercambio sincero, transparente y mutuamente beneficioso para la academia de ambas naciones.

Apoyo el pronunciamiento, es necesario el diálogo, la colaboración y entendimiento mutuo primando el respecto dentro de las diferencias y trabajar con objetivos comunes, sin caer en pronunciamientos unilaterales que no contribuyen al entendimiento y colaboración sana.
