He is a legend for locals and a harmless giving man. So sweet and nice. Always happy. He should be recognized, in fact there is no one like him and never will be.

I used to work at Arundel Lodge and all off the members there were very fond of Buckwheat. These were people who hade very tough lives but would always go out of their way to give Buckwheat a hello on their sickest of days.

We've always called him "Bookin' Dude" for the way he moves. He's been around since I can remember and he always, ALWAYS returns a wave hello! Makes our day.

I was born and raised in Annapolis and I loved seeing Buckwheat walking down forest Dr. Always smiling and keeping our streets clean. He deserves to be honored by the city of Annapolis

I support this petition. I was transplanted to Annapolis when I married. My husband and I have worked in the area for a number of years and always are on the lookout for Carlester. My current career as a Developmental Disabilities Nurse has given me a different view of his life. He is living life on his terms, in a way that makes him and everyone who sees/meets him happy. I think it would be a great way of reminding all of us, and future Annapolitan's about this gentle-man who brought light to our days.

I so support this idea. Carlester has been a wonderful role of Naptown since I was a kid 40 yrs ago. He cleans up the streets peacefully. Well deserved.

A man with a big heart and leads by example, Carlester's image and story should spread to others that value the tenants of human compassion and solidarity, for Annapolis, as well as other cities, would benefit from it!

I can't think of a better person to honor. Carlester has done more than anyone I can think of to keep Annapolis beautiful and has set a positive example for everyone.
