What a dear sweet character Lester was. He always brightened my day when I'd see him along West Street. He is truly an Annapolis icon.

No one deserves this honor more than Mr. Smith. The Mayor should set aside a day to honor him (the day his likeness is dedicated). That date and its anniversary could be noted as "Walking Lester Day". No one did more to keep Annapolis clean. On that date everyone should grab a trash bag and fight litter. Let's also give credit to those who have shown a passion to Carlester Smith; past, present, and future.
Thanks

I haven't lived in Annapolis for some time now, but Carlester is as vivid a part of my memories of my home town as anyone or anything else. Glad to see the mural moving ahead; let's see a more lasting tribute as well!

He deserves a statue. He constantly walked up and down cleaning Annapolis.
