If Mr Trudeau is intent on building infrastructure as part of his economic plan, contributing federal funds towards building PCHs for ageing babyboomers seems like a very good investment.

My parents are elderly and have just moved from a house to a non-senior condominium complex after not being able to find an affordable personal care facility.

Although I personally live in Texas, I needed to move both my parents who lived in Blumenort at the time into a PCH. We, my parents and I chose St. Adolphe PCH, who later moved to Niverville. I am happy to say our experience with them was very positive. Both my parents have deceased since then but I am keenly aware of the need for PCHs. And also back in 1997, I needed to moved my husband to a PCH here in Texas. He has since deceased as well.

I support this initiative as many clients coming for legal advice have indicated their elderly parents are either stuck in a hospital bed waiting for a permanent placement, or have a situation that is less than ideal.

Our elderly citizens are often placed in facilities far from Steinbach resulting in hardship for all concerned. The person in care feels lonely & isolated - an elder spouse, family & friends can no longer drop in easily to visit or run errands. Visits are then less frequent as travel takes time - it is expensive - bad winter weather can shut down roads & some elder spouses will not drive a long distance in winter. Lets look after our people at home!!

I know this for a fact my dad was moved from the hospital in Steinbach to Vita my mom did not drive so she could only see him if luckey once a week I could ser him go down hill from there my mom was only given a few houres notice that they were moving him to vita his demision got worse becuse of this when he finaly got a bed in syeinbach he was so confused he didnt evan reconize me any more
